Board Position - Director at Large – Volunteer Recruitment
Looking for a talented HBA member who meets the following criteria:
- Passion for HBA
- Strong leadership skills – has experience or wants to get experience building and leading teams
- Seeking visibility – this role will be highly visible within and beyond the chapter
- Likes working as part of a team – will work closely with chapter VP and membership/volunteer recognition directors, as well as board at large
Responsibilities:
- Lead volunteer recruitment effort – board determines volunteer needs across chapter and this role leads the effort to fill them (match volunteers to volunteer roles)
- Build volunteer recruitment strategic plan – work with chapter VP to create 2012 strategic plan
- Lead team of three or more volunteers who will be accountable for recruiting and matching volunteers; includes setting expectations, holding calls with team, sharing strategic plan, delegating work, directing activities, and holding team members accountable

Market Research Manager
Business intelligence and data analytics are driving business and healthcare improvement. HBA offers a good test bed with a reasonably sized database for sharpening your data analytics skills. Work with us to build our chapter EMR - Electronic Member Record to strengthen our community of women and achieve true operational excellence.
Time commitment: Two to three hours per month.
Online Community Manager / Webmaster
Grow your online and new media experience. Expand your resume, and spearhead the chapter rollout of our new web platform and integration with social media? This is a chance to use new tools and take charge as we gear up to grow our web presence and build our social community.
Time commitment: Two to three hours per month.
Web Content Manager
Grow your web experience, expand your resume, and spearhead the chapter rollout of our new web platform? Take charge as we gear up to grow our web presence.
Time commitment: Two to three hours per month.
Copywriter
Share your passion for writing and expand your resume. Interview key opinion leaders at HBA events to capture their stories for online and newsletter distribution.
Time commitment: Two to three hours per event
Corporate Partner Relationships
Company Ambassadors
Join our steering committee and be an HBA ambassador to help support diversity and leadership development initiatives within your own organization.
Time commitment: Two hours per month
Corporate Sponsorship
Connect with industry leaders and build your contact base.
Time commitment: Two to four hours per month
Membership
HBA Orientation
Serve as subject matter expert on membership. Lead HBA orientation sessions at events.
Time required: Two hours per month prior to an event and time at the event
Recruitment
Help identify and execute recruitment and retention campaign tactics. This is a great way to create one-on-one relationships with new people and expand your own personal network.
Time commitment: One hour per week
Onboarding
Reach out to welcome and orient new members with HBA chapter benefits. Serve as a buddy to new members at events. Help identify and execute new member campaign tactics.
Time commitment: One hour per week and time at events
Other
Finance
Gain budgeting and contracting experience. Join our chapter treasurer and get a behind-the-scenes look at non-profit operations.
Time commitment: One to two hours per month.
