Volunteering

HBA Metro Chapter Volunteer Opportunities – February 2012

Do you feel lost when you come to meetings? Do you wish you knew some people in the Metro chapter that have similar backgrounds so you can start to feel connected and engaged? Are you looking to expand your professional network? If so, please volunteer.

Volunteers are the HBA’s most critical asset. Our volunteer roles can offer you the opportunity to develop new skill sets and explore areas of interest outside your regular “work life.”

Corporate Relations Committee – ensures HBA Corporate Partners and companies who may have interest in sponsoring events have a liaison to connect to HBA Metro sponsorship opportunities that meet their strategic objectives.

·         Chair and Committee Members Program Sponsorship: Interface with the program director and team to ensure sponsorship needs are fulfilled.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is six to eight hours per month, committee members four to six hours per month.

·         Chair and Committee Members, Process/Media: Build a customer relationship model and appropriate tools that will provide visibility. Develop the marketing and communications that will be used with potential sponsors.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is six to eight hours per month, committee members four to six hours per month.

·         Chair and Committee Members, Diversity: work closely with the diversity and inclusion committee to secure corporate sponsors from newly identified target segments.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is six to eight hours per month, committee members four to six hours per month.

Marketing and Public Relations Committee – coordinates the execution of a multi-media marketing and public relations campaign to promote the activities of the HBA Metro Chapter.

·         Social Media Committee Leads: Sit on an assigned committee as marketing liaison and lead social media efforts in support of the committee.

o    Time: Estimated time one to two hours per month in addition to two hourly teleconferences per month.

Market Research Committee – executes a multi-faceted research strategy to collect, analyze, and report information that will assist the HBA Metro Chapter in achieving its goals.

·         Chair and Committee Members: develop and administer member and event surveys. Develop a dashboard of key metrics that provide insights into trends in membership and sponsorship.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is four to five hours per month, committee members two to three hours per month.

Programs Committee, Connections – designs and organizes a series of events intended to enhance the networking experience of the HBA Metro Chapter members.

·         Chair and Committee Members: organize and support the “Dine Arounds” for the New Jersey and New York areas.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is four to five hours per month, committee members two to three hours per month.

Programs Committee, Entrepreneurs Affinity – designs and organizes a series of events tailored to address the interests and needs of the HBA Metro Chapter who have specific interest in entrepreneurship.

·         Committee Members: organize and support events that address the needs of entrepreneurs.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is four to five hours per month, committee members two to three hours per month.

Programs Committee, Golf Outing – designs and organizes the annual golf outing.

·         Committee Members: recruit participants and sponsors for the golf outing. Assist in planning the event logistics.

o   Time: Estimated time is three to four hours per month.

·         Programs Committee, Virtual Programs – designs and presents a series of webinars tailored to the interests and needs of the HBA Metro Chapter’s members.

·         Committee Members: assist with the development of webinar topics, securing speakers, and finalizing webinar logistics.

o   Time: Estimated time is three to four hours per month

Volunteer Engagement Committee – recruits, on-boards, and recognizes the volunteers who support the HBA Metro Chapter.

·         Chair and Committee Members, On-boarding: recruit volunteers needed for the various committees in the HBA Metro Chapter.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is four to five hours per month, committee members two to three hours per month.

·         Chair and Committee Members, Outreach: follow up with volunteers to make sure their volunteer experience is meeting their needs/expectations.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is three to four hours per month, committee members one to two hours per month.

·         Chair and Committee Members, Recognition: coordinate all volunteer recognition efforts, including the planning of the annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner.

o    Time: Estimated time for the chair role is three to four hours per month, committee members one to two hours per month.

Website Communications Committee – maintain/update the content of the HBA Metro Chapter’s website to increase awareness of HBA Metro Chapter events and topics of interest to the members.

·         Committee Members: post and monitor content on website, conduct interviews of members and volunteers for regular features
